Atoke was born in Lagos and studied law at the University of Lagos, where she was a recipient of the TotalFinaElf Merit Scholarship. She was called to the Nigerian bar in 2008. She worked within the Arican Associates team at Olajide Oyewole LLP as a junior associate in corporate commercial law.

In January 2012, she decided to follow her passion for creative writing and focused on her writing. Her short story, Of Lemons & Lemonades was shortlisted for the Farafina E-book collection. She has since then worked as the features editor at BellaNaija.

As part of her role, she has conducted interviews with notable people like playwright, Biyi Bandele – the director of Half of A Yellow Sun; TV Personality, Ojinika Obiekwe; Film director, Kemi Adetiba amongst many others.

She also initiated the human interest columns titled ‘BN Our Miracles Our Stories’,’BN Single Parent Pod’, ‘A Peek Into The Life Of…’  and ‘The BN Epilogues’ –  where life changing stories and experiences have been shared.

It is her dream that, through her writing, she will change one person, and that person will go on to influence another. She sought to do this through her weekly column, Atoke’s Monday Morning Banter, where she addressed about socio-cultural and lifestyle issues which affect people of diverse backgrounds.

She is a copy editor and a content developer for websites.
